2023
Colloquium
The 2023 Colloquium was organised by Marie Gastinel-Jones and hosted by the School of Modern Languages at Cardiff University. The keynote speaker, Michael Webb, director of Technology and Analytics at JISC, offered a nuanced introduction to the opportunities and challenges of AI in Education. The themes of the roundtables were Transition and Transgression which provided a useful range of approaches on the topics. The conference was attended by 75 delegates from the GW4 institutions, and from this year’s guest university, the University of Nottingham.

I enjoyed the constructive networking during the whole event
This annual conference between the four institutions, focusing on language teaching, represents an invaluable opportunity for career development, something not always available in our field.
I was surprised to see how well attended the colloquium was, and all of us agreed that attending was an excellent idea.
What I enjoyed most was the keynote speaker on AI and the variety of speakers
